Waking up... 03/24/2011

From the people we encounter in our lives, we remember only a few. Those are the ones who had a major impact in our lives.

We learn from every one. Even from those who are negative towards us. Some are nasty, some are just intimidating. At first we fall for the intimation. Then come frustration and the anger. Those are our negative councillors. Then one day, we wake up... and actually that day we DO wake up and realise... We should not be angry at those people. We should feel sorry for them. They only live when they can feed on their anger and frustration.

In my life I met people who told me what, how is the correct way to think. A wise man will MAKE you think for YOURSELF. It is YOU who make the decisions, no one else. Not everyone will agree with what you think. There are too many differences. However, for all those differences, there is so much more to learn.
When working abroad, I met different cultures... and yet, in our differences, we were so much alike. Mutual respect, interest in each other’s thoughts, keen to learn from each other... No judgement because one thinks differently.
Learning enriches one's life, opens you up and frees yourself. This is the road that leads towards your inner self. And then comes the day frustration and anger finally no longer control you...

...that's the day you're Awake.

I agree that out of all the people we may meet in life only a few will stand out. And even fewer will remain in your life forever. Those that don't like your opinion will find reasons to not like you but this should never lead you to be dishonest with yourself and change your beliefs, opinions & thoughts just to fit in. Altough sometimes fit in is all we really want to do. What puzzles me is why the people you hold in high regard whom you thought you made that "forever" connection with dissappear or drop you for apparently no reason. Just one day there are no more visits, phone calls, e-mails...nada. I still regard them in the best of light and I'm thankful for the brief time we were friends. But it is puzzleing........
